Hot Chocolate Bombs
Apparently these are all over the internet. I’m old, so I didn't know that, but once they were brought to my attention I couldn’t wait to make them for the holidays! You will need a sphere mold to make these. I like the 2 1/2” size sphere molds. They are a great size and I can’t wait to play around with other desserts with them.
Tips:
You can really play around with this fun gift. Drizzle some additional chocolate on each bomb.
Place the hot chocolate bomb in a cellophane bag and tie with pretty ribbon to give as a gift. Just add a gift tag with recipe to add 14 ounces of hot milk.
Crushed candy cane would be a fun addition if you like peppermint.

COOK
INGREDIENTS
4 ounces (113.33 g) semi-sweet couverture chocolate or any high quality chocolate
mini marshmallows
1 tablespoon (14.67 g) hot chocolate mix
Optional: sprinkles
To enjoy: 14 oz. hot milk
INSTRUCTIONS
Finely chop your chocolate using a sharp chefs knife.
Place the chocolate into a bowl and heat for 30 seconds.
Stir the chocolate, moving the chocolate that is on the outside, towards the center.
Heat again for 15 seconds and stir again. Repeat this process until the chocolate is melted. Be careful to not burn the chocolate! Happens easily.
Make sure your molds are clean by polishing them with a paper towel.
Paint a thin layer of chocolate into the molds and refrigerate for 5 minutes.
Paint a second coat of chocolate over the first, paying special attention to building up the rim of the sphere. Refrigerate for 5 minutes.
Take your chocolate out of the molds and fill with 1 tablespoon of hot cocoa mix and marshmallows.
Pipe some melted chocolate around the rim and attach the second sphere on top. Pressing gently to seal.
Use a gloved hand to wipe away the excess chocolate or simply roll the chocolate sphere in some sprinkles to finish the look.
